PFA Coated Stainless Steel Thermocouple: 1/8" Diameter x 8" Long, Type "K", Fits Reactor Capacity: 100-250mL. Thermocouples for use with Chemglass process reactors. Available in both ¿T¿ (blue connections) and ¿K¿ (yellow connections). The detachable thermocouples are for direct insertion in the reactors using a CG-1048-A or CG-1042-E thermocouple adapter, while the 4¿ long Hastelloy C-276 style is for use with the CG-1971 baffles and adapters. Detachable type thermocouples have a standard male plug (OST) and require a coiled extension cord for connection to the CG-3498 temperature monitor. The 4¿ long Hastelloy C-276 thermocouples are supplied with a 4ft FEP insulated cord having a standard male plug (OST).PLEASE NOTE: THE 1/2¿ DIAMETER PROBES HAVE A TRANSITION TO 6¿ OF PTFE LEADS AND ARE CLEAR FEP PTFE COATED. "The CDC Biofilm Reactor® consists of eight (8) polypropylene coupon holder rods suspended from a UHMW-polyethylene ported lid. Each coupon holder rod can accommodate three (3) 1/2-inch (12.7 mm) diameter coupons, for a total of twenty-four(24) coupons. The lid (with coupon holders and coupons) is mounted in a 1-liter glass vessel with side-arm discharge port. A liquid growth media or biocide is circulated through the vessel while mixing and shear is generated by a magnetic stir bar and vane rotated by a magnetic stir plate.Sampling of the coupons is conducted by aseptically removing individual coupon holder rods with accompanying coupons (3). The coupon holder (or blank) rod is replaced in the lid after sampling to allow the time-course experiment to continue. The coupon removed from the reactor vessel is then used for treatment evaluations, scraped or vortexed to collect the biofilm sample for further study.
