Insulated Containers
Insulated containers maintain a constant temperature to help protect temperature-sensitive materials during benchtop use, short- or long-term storage, or transport. Available in a variety of types, such as polyurethane boxes, chests, coolers, and mini-coolers, insulated containers can be used for enzymes, cells, reagents, and other solutions.
Specific applications include: protection from moderate and extreme ambient temperature exposure; short-term frozen or hot storage; and controlled rate freezing (approximately -1°C/minute) for cell preservation.

- Ice buckets and pans
Insulated containers are usually used for cold items, although they can also be used with cold or hot items.

Low form shallow dewars permit essential operations that are not practical with standard cylindrical or spherical dewars including insertion of small flasks in dewar, agitation in flask with magnetic stirrer, rapid freezing and recovery of tissue/organ specimens, and tempering of stirring rods, pestles and other small objects. Electron Microscopy Sciences Foam Cryogenic Dewar Large, 1400 ml, 6.3" I.D., 3.8" Depth
The foam dewars are safe, durable containers for handling liquid nitrogen and cryogenic materials. Foam dewars use fine closed cell foam for insulation, which is chemically inert and mechanically durable enough to be exposed directly to liquid nitrogen, without leaking or degrading. They have superior insulating properties compared to stainless or glass, at a fraction of the cost. Also, due to the lower thermal mass, foam vessels cause less liquid nitrogen boil off when filled, and will accumulate less frost. This results in less liquid nitrogen being used. Feature a foam lid.
