MARSHALL SCIENTIFIC Edwards mXDS3 Dry Scroll Pump
The Edwards Vacuum range of small dry scroll pumps is expanding with the introduction of the compact mXDS3 and mXDS3s Dry Scroll Pumps. The new mXDS3 dry scroll pump delivers 1.77 CFM (3 m^3/h^-1) pumping speed at 50Hz or 2.06 CFM (3.5 m^3/h^-1) together with an ultimate pressure of 0.1 mbar making it well suited for backing turbomolecular pumps. The mXDS3 is the standard option supplied with no inlet valve fitted, while the mXDS3s comes factory fitted with an inlet valve featuring delay opening. The mXDS3s is also supplied with an exhaust silencer. Both offer the same vacuum performance and feature an IEC connector for main supply and an on/off switch for easy control. This compact dry pump offers flexibility to the system designer and end user alike with a wide range of accessories available to choose from to meet your configuration requirements. This standard variant of the mXDS3 comes with a single phase 115V, 50/60Hz motor.

Scroll pumps are an excellent alternative to rotary vane pumps where oil free pumping is desirable. The XDS pumps in particular use an innovative bearing shield to isolate the vacuum environment from all forms of lubricant, not only making them totally dry, but also protecting the bearing from any process gases. Vapour handling is enabled by an adjustable gas ballast; this allows the range of pumps to satisfy many applications that were previously off limits to other scroll pumps. Ultimate vacuum of 0.008 mbar and peak pumping speed of 21.0 CFM.

0-12mm Chem-Vac Valve. CHEM-VAC valve has single sidearm sealed at a 90 angle to the barrel. This inexpensive configuration allows for the lower portion of the barrel to be sealed directly to the apparatus being constructed, making for more compact, stronger assemblies. Valve has a TFE plug with three o-rings, the tip o-ring making the primary seal on the precision formed tapered seat. O-rings on the non-rotating shaft form an excellent dynamic seal between the TFE plug and glass barrel. Available with a choice of Viton or Kalrez o-rings.
