Plastic Tubing
Plastic tubing of various lengths and bores constructed of materials suitable for general laboratory, biopharmaceutical, food and beverage, medical, vacuum, low-pressure, high-pressure, cleanroom or environmental applications. Products may be chemical- or corrosion-resistant. Formulated for resistance to flex fatigue and abrasion, plastic tubing is more flexible and less permeable than rubber tubing.
How Is Plastic Tubing Used?
Flexible plastic tubing may be used as transfer lines for contamination fluid control, hydraulics, protective jacketing, vacuum pump and diaphragm pump feeds and discharges, refrigeration, water and fluid lines, food and beverage, instrumentation, research laboratories, agriculture, material handling, air and gas lines, chemical lines and pharmaceuticals.
Types of Plastic Tubing:
• PVC: lightweight and flexible, will retain its bore on bending and can be sterilized up to 121°C
• Silicone: ideal where a hard-wearing material is needed, including transfer of liquids or higher temperature environments
• LDPE: good for general low pressure and temperature, instrumentation, corrosive atmosphere, and food processing
• PTFE: has excellent chemical-resistant and temperature-resistant properties
• PE: flexible, lightweight, durable, and corrosion resistant, used for a wide range of liquid, gas, and fluid transfer applications
• FEP: clear, small-diameter tubing, the economical choice for chemical resistance and broad temperature exposure
• PEEK: high-performance polymer with mechanical and chemical resistance, and highly resistant to thermal degradation

Altafluor 200 FEP (Fluoronated Ethylene Propylene) is an economical choice for applications requiring chemical resistance in combination with broad temperature exposure. Altafluor 200 FEP offers excellent clarity which makes it ideal for sight glass/flow monitoring applications. Certified to NSF 51, NSF 61 and NSF 372. It has superior electrical insulation properties and is available in coiled hose and convoluted tubing constructions. Additionally, the outstanding UV transmission rate of FEP makes it a clear choice for UV transmission applications. Altafluor 200 tubing may be used with flare or conventional fittings.

Altafluor 350 THV FLEX (Tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene. The preferred choice for UV light transmission. Good chemical resistance. Excellent bondability to other materials and has excellent ozone resistance, low permeation with superior weatherability.

Altafluor 100 PTFE was the original TEFLON material developed by E.I.DUPONT CO. PTFE is the most flexiible of all fluoropolymers offered. It has the broadest temperature range of any fluoropolymer and can resist highly corrosive liquids and gases even at elevated temperatures. The smooth surface finish and lowest coefficient of friction and lubricity make it ideal for bushing or bearing applications. Non-flammable. Non-toxic. FDA compliant -21 CFR 177.1550. Very low permeability. Altafluor 100 is compatible with most standard fittings (not suitable for use with flare-type fittings). Applications include use in laboratories, chemical processes, analytical and process equipment, crogenic, electrical, high temp and automotive. Manufactured from 100% virgin grade PTFE resins, it is the most flexible, is chemically inert and resistant to nearly all industrial chemicals and solvents.
Grainger Corrugated Tubing Nylon 3/8 in 25 ft
The 3/4" Corrugated Loom Tubing from Grainger is a flexible, split, corrugated tubing designed to protect wires, cables, and hoses. It is made from polyethylene and has an operating temperature range of -20°F to 176°F. The tubing has a 3/4" inside diameter and is sold by the foot, with standard lengths ranging from 25' to 1000'. It can be cut to desired length. The corrugated design allows the tubing to be bent to route wires and cables without kinking. It is designed for indoor and outdoor use and protects against abrasion, moisture, and chemicals. The split design allows for easy wire and cable insertion. It comes in black color.
