World Precision Instrument Pneumatic PicoPump with vacuum
Although syringe and piston techniques are popular for microinjection in the nanoliter range, microinjection of sub-nanoliter volumes through a very small opening in a glass micropipette is often better accomplished with a controlled burst of gas pressure. Designed to simplify intracellular injection and a variety of other microinjection tasks, WPI’s PicoPumps use precisely regulated pressures for securing cells and injecting them with fluid. Injected volumes range from picoliters to nanoliters. Separate ports supply positive and negative pressure—positive pressure for high-pressure ejection, and suction for supporting the cell or for filling the pipette from the tip. In the time between injections, a secondary default “hold” pressure is applied to the pipette to prevent fluid uptake through capillary action or diffusion. The pressure pulses are typically controlled by a precision timer.

Bump Trap, 250mL, Self Washing, Rotary Evaporator, 24/40 Top Outer, 14/20 Lower Inner. Trap is designed to eliminate hold up common to the round style of rotary evaporator traps. Tapered sidewalls permit continuous washing with condensed solvent while preventing vapor cooling points along the path of the condenser. The upper stem has 4 large holes flush with the lower end, allowing solvent vapor to flow freely and making this portion of the trap easy to clean. The increased volume of the trap prevents “bumping” and keeps solvent out of the vapor tube.

Condenser, "C" Assembly, Constant Feed, For Rotary Evaporators, Plastic Coated. Two piece cold trap style condenser for use with rotary evaporators. Condenser has an additional 19/38 outer joint sealed onto the condenser to allow continuous feed of volumes exceeding the capacity of the evaporating flask. The 19/38 joint is sealed at an angle. This continuous feed feature eliminates the need for a separate filtration step to remove drying agents or other particulate matter from organic solutions prior to rotary evaporation. The ferrule style connection eliminates o-ring connections, which are prone to degradation with long term exposure to organic solvents. Condenser is supplied complete with all fittings necessary to connect the continuous feed feature, along with our new style PTFE centering ring which makes a vacuum tight seal between the inner cold finger and the plastic coated outer sleeve. Also supplied with a UHMW lid with knob.
