World Precision Instrument #5 Carbide Ball Mill
This line-powered micro drill will make easy work of grinding, finishing, cutting and drilling bone, teeth and other material. The high-torque 35,000 rpm (maximum) motor is quiet and has minimal vibration which reduces wear on the motor and provides greater comfort for you. It also features a forward and reverse switch, “E Type” handpiece and handpiece holder. The handpiece has a removable nose cone that can be cleaned and sterilized. It accepts 3/32” and 2.33mm bur shanks. Unlike battery-powered drills, this unit maintains consistent power for the duration of use. The wide range of speeds allows you to control the amount of heat generation.

The Micro 100 16R757 is a 1/4" diameter, 4 flute, carbide thread mill with a TiAlN coating. It has a right hand spiral flute and can cut 60 degree threads from 10-56 to 1/4-20. The overall length is 2-1/2" and it has a 1/4" shank. This thread mill is made in the USA and is designed for high performance threading in steels, stainless steels, cast iron, aluminum and other materials. It features Micro 100's proprietary TiAlN coating for increased tool life and improved performance. The 16R757 thread mill is well-suited for production threading applications.

The Grainger 14K811 is a 14 gauge, type 1 solid copper building wire with THHN insulation. It is rated up to 90°C dry, 75°C wet locations. This wire comes in 500 foot spools and is UL listed. The copper conductor offers good conductivity and flexibility. THHN insulation stands up to heat, moisture, gas, oil and chemicals. This wire is suitable for use in conduit and other wet or dry locations.

Through the use of this special lid (incl. seal ring) on a hardmetal tungsten carbide grinding bowl with 80 ml volume, the grinding bowl can be used for grinding with inert gas and for mechanical alloying.
Two valves allow for easy and safe filling of the bowls with inert gas, while they are firmly clamped in the mill. A special additional Lock-System is required for gas-tight removal and transportation: order no. 90.1400.00.

Device for grinding in liquid nitrogen
The grinding set is placed in a cryo-box to grind soft, oily, fatty or moist materials by adding liquid nitrogen to embrittle the grinding material. This method is used to reduce samples which are very difficult to grind (e. g. slivers of soft PVC) to analytical fineness. The thick insulation of the cryo-box keeps coolant costs low.
For cryogenic grinding, a mortar and a grinding ball made of stainless steel, hardened steel or hard metal tungsten carbide should be used.
