Citrated horse blood is aseptically collected and prepared to order from our colony of animals. Citrated horse blood is ideal for blood agar plate preparations. Blood Agar is a general purpose enriched medium often used to grow fastidious organisms and to differentiate bacteria based on their hemolytic properties. Citrated Horse RBCs are also useful for the titration of complement adsorption procedures testing for agglutinins/HA assays and for the preparation of stroma as particulate reagents. Horse red blood cells are perishable and are collected and processed upon receipt of your order.

The Citrate Assay Kit provides a simple and automation-ready procedure for measuring citrate concentration. Citrate is converted into pyruvate which is then oxidized with the conversion of the dye into a colored and fluorescent form. The color intensity at 570 nm or fluorescence intensity at lambdaex/em 530/585 nm is directly proportional to the citrate concentration in the sample.
