Alkali Scientific CellPro™ LB (Lennox) + Chloramphenicol 10µg/mL 100mm, 10/Sleeve
CellPro™ LB (Lennox) + Chloramphenicol is a specialized culture medium formulated for the growth of bacterial strains resistant to chloramphenicol. This LB agar variant contains chloramphenicol, a bacteriostatic antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis in susceptible bacteria. By incorporating chloramphenicol into the LB agar, this medium selectively promotes the growth of chloramphenicol-resistant bacterial strains, making it ideal for the maintenance of recombinant DNA constructs and other molecular biology applications.

MacConkey (MAC) Agar is a selective and differential medium used for the detection and isolation of Gram-Negative enteric bacilli. Escherichia coli can ferment lactose to produce acid which results in a pH drop. This is indicated by neutral red resulting in pink colonies. Increased acid production results in the precipitation of bile salts, or a halo, around lactose fermenting bacteria. (Wallerstein Laboratory) WL Differential (WLD) Agar is a selective and differential medium used for the isolation of bacteria encountered in brewing and industrial fermentation processes. WLD contains cycloheximide to inhibit fungi. WLD plates are incubated aerobically for the growth of acetic acid bacteria, Flavobacterium, Proteus, and thermophilic bacteria.
