Modified Letheen Agar with Tween 80 (MLAT) is a non-selective medium utilized to determine the antimicrobial activity of quaternary ammoniums compounds and is recommended for the microbiological testing of cosmetics. Weber and Black described the value of a highly nutritional solid medium containing neutralizing agents for quaternary ammonium compounds in sanitizers in 1948. The addition of Lecithin and Polysorbate 80 to Tryptone Glucose Extract (TGE) Agar resulted in a medium that effectively neutralized quaternary ammonium compounds to test germicidal activity. Total neutralization of disinfectants is critical as disinfectant residues can result in false negative (no-growth) test results. • Product meets APHA, BAM, CLSI, SM-Dairy, SMWW, and USP-NF reference methods and performance criteria.• MLTA should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.

Nutrient Agar is a general purpose medium for the cultivation and maintenance of nonfastidious organisms. It can be used for the cultivation and enumeration of organisms in water, sewage, feces and other materials. Nutrient agars prepared with Oxoid Nutrient Broth No. 2, specified by Maron & Ames, Mutat. Res. 113: 173, 1983, are used for general growth and CFU determinations of Ames S. typhimurium and E. coli WP2 strains. We provide specifically formulated Nutrient agars and broths for Ames assay applications as well as for general use. m-Endo broth detects total coliform bacteria (colonies with a greenish-gold sheen). For potable water samples, confirm with Lauryl Tryptose and Brilliant Green Bile Broth tubes. Samples that test positive for total coliform bacteria should be further analyzed for the presence of fecal coliform or E. coli using EC Medium or EC Medium with MUG respectively.

In 24 hours, Hach's m-ColiBlue24 Broth give you simultaneous results for total coliforms and E. coli. Hach's ready-to-use media eliminates measuring, mixing, and autoclaving steps necessary to prepare dehydrated media. Glass ampules (26084-20), plastic ampules (260845-00), 100mL bottles (26084-42) of m-ColiBlue24 and agar plates (28052-15), afford maximum shelf life and ease of use for pre-measured and prepared media. Enumerate total coliforms and E. coli on one petri dish. Differentiate colonies easily - red and blue indicate total coliforms and blue specifies E. coli. Use m-ColiBlue24 Broth to accurately monitor and evaluate total coliform and E. coli in drinking water; wastewater; bottled water; beverages; surface, ground, and well water; and ultrapure, chemical processing and pharmaceutical processing waters.m-ColiBlue24 should only be used with pads manufactured by the following companies/brands: Pall Corporation, Sartorius, and Millipore EO.
