Glucose uptake capacity is an important indicator in the field of diabetes research. Diabetes is caused by decreased insulin secretion and responsiveness, and it inhibits cellular uptake of glucose. One common method for evaluating the glucose uptake ability of cells uses radioisotope-labeled glucose. Although this method has been used for many years, it requires special handling facilities and disposal of radioactive materials, at the disadvantage of inconvenience and high cost. Glucose Uptake Probe-Blue has resolved these limitations. This probe emits strong blue fluorescence (Ex=386 nm, Em=474 nm), allowing for easy detection of glucose uptake by fluorescent microscope and flow cytometry. It is not only a boon in regards to potential multiplex capabilities, but it also avoids emission overlap with the autofluorescence that cells produce. The Express DNA methylation kit (shallow well) features high-throughput (96-well) bisulfite treatment and conversion of DNA for methylation analysis. No preparation is necessary when using the Express Conversion Reagent. Simply add this reagent to a DNA sample and let the reaction proceed to completion. DNA denaturation and bisulfite conversion processes are combined with added heat to facilitate rapid denaturation. Desulphonation and clean-up of the converted DNA is performed using a unique 96-well spin-plate. High yield, converted DNA is ideal for PCR, array, bisulfite and next generation sequencing.
