The VitroCol lyophilized product comes with 15 mg of type I human atelocollagen used for 2D coatings or as a collagen standard. VitroCol collagen is naturally secreted from human neo-natal fibroblast cells, then processed and purified to yield the naturally produced human collagen. VitroCol sets the standard for purity (>99% collagen content), functionality and represents the only native-like human collagen offered. VitroCol is approximately 97% Type I human collagen with the remainder being comprised of Type III collagen. This product is supplied as a lyophilized powder with 15 mg of human collagen. When reconstituted with 5 ml of sterile 0.01 N HCl, a concentration of approximately 3 mg/ml is achieved. VitroCol is especially ideal for human cell culture systems when coating of surfaces and providing preparations of thin layers of culturing cells. VitroCol, lyophilized form is not recommended for the formation of a solid gel. VitroCol is supplied as a sterile, lyophilized powder.

TeloCol-6 bovine collagen solution is derived from an acid extraction process yielding a telopeptide-intact collagen. The pro-peptide regions at both ends of the collagen chain, N- and C-telopeptide regions, are maintained. TeloCol-6 collagen is approximately 95% Type I collagen with the remainder being comprised of Type III collagen. Each product includes a bottle containing 50 ml of collagen solution accompanied with a bottle of pre-formulated neutralizing solution for the formation of a collagen gel. Type IV Collagen is the primary collagen found in the extracellular basement membranes separating a variety of epithelial and endothelial cells. It is a major component of the dermal-epidermal junction where it is mostly found in the lamina densa. It is a heterotrimeric molecule containing two Alpha 1-like and one Alpha 2-like chains.This Type IV Collagen is isolated from human placenta and is purified using a multi-step process. The product is supplied as a non-sterile powder containing 5 mg of Type IV collagen per vial.Type IV Collagen is typically used as a thin coating on tissue culture surfaces. Specific instructions are found in the Directions for Use. This product is generally used in vitro as a substrate scaffold to enhance cell attachment, adherence and proliferation. Advanced BioMatrix offers PhotoCol, a purified methacrylated Type I bovine collagen kit. PhotoColprovides native-like 3D collagen gels with the attributes to be prepared at various concentrations and crosslinked to provide various gel stiffness. The methacrylated Type I collagen is produced from telo-peptide intact bovine collagen where the collagen has been modified by reacting the free amines, primarily the -amines groups of the lysine residues as well as the a-amines groups on the N-termini. > 20% of the total lysine residues of the collagen molecule have been methacrylated. A bottle of 20 mM acetic acid solution is provided to solubilize the lyophilized methacrylated collagen at concentrations ranging from 3 to 8 mg/ml. The neutralization solution consists of an alkaline 10X phosphate buffered saline (PBS) solution. The photoinitiator consists of LAP to be formulated in 1X cell culture media or PBS which allows blue light photocrosslinking of the collagen at 405 nm.
