It plays an important role for the inactivation of mycobacteriophage D29 bacteria which is vivale for viable mycobacterium smegmatis and m.tuberculosis. The crystalline ammonium ferrous sulfate has shown useful function as the high absorbed dose and low-temperature dosimeter.
