Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

PA1-25327 detects AP2 alpha from human samples. PA1-25327 is expected to cross react with mouse (94% conserved), rat (94% conserved), chicken (88% conserved), and ovine (94% conserved) due to sequence homology. PA1-25327 has been successfully used in Western blot and immunofluorescence procedures. The PA1-25327 immunogen is a synthetic peptide, conjugated to KLH, corresponding to residues S(420) H T D N N A K S S D K E E K H R K(437) of human AP2 alpha. Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

The protein encoded by this gene is a transcription factor that binds the consensus sequence 5′-GCCNNNGGC-3′. The encoded protein functions as either a homodimer or as a heterodimer with similar family members. This protein activates the transcription of some genes while inhibiting the transcription of others. Defects in this gene are a cause of branchiooculofacial syndrome (BOFS). Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
