Description
Bsp-1 reacts with a 45 kDa surface antigen on the human erythroleukemic (HEL) cell line, the KU812 basophilic cell line, and peripheral blood basophils, but not on neutrophils or eosinophils. Bsp-1+ basophils also express CD11 and CD13, but lack lymphoid and other granulocytic/monocytic cell surface antigens. However, they express CD45 and HLA-ABC antigens. In peripheral blood, Bsp-1 reacts with a subset of the CD123+/HLA-DR- population. Bsp-1 is a useful tool in the study of basophil function and differentiation.
