Description
The Ha1/29 antibody reacts with intergrin α2 chain (CD49b or VLA-2 α chain), the 160-kDa transmembrane glycoprotein that non-covalently associates with the intergrin β1 subunit (CD29) to form the intergrin α2β1 complex known as VLA-2. VLA-2, a receptor for collagen and laminin, is expressed on activated lymphocytes, epithelial cells, and platelets. It has been reported that Ha1/29 antibody can block VLA-2 binding to collagen and laminin. Ha1/29 antibody also reacts with mouse CD49b.
This antibody is routinely tested by flow cytometric analysis. Other applications were tested at BD Biosciences Pharmingen during antibody development only or reported in the literature.
