PA1-41590 detects Leukocyte Antigen CD97 in chimpanzee, mouse and human samples.

CD97 is a monomeric glycoprotein belonging to G-protein coupled receptor 2 family and having a seven-span transmembrane region homologous to the secretin receptor super family. It is usually induced on the surface of activated leukocytes and has four tandem EGF-like domains two of them have calcium binding sites and a single RGD motif and several potential N and O glycosylation sites. It is known to act as a receptor that is not only involved in adhesion but also takes part in signaling processes early after leukocyte activation and also has a cellular ligand CD55, DAF. Over expression of this protein may sometimes lead to gastrointestinal carcinomas. CD97 an epidermal growth factor (EGF)-TM7 receptor is expressed on smooth muscle cells and other cells of the immune system.
