Cdh1, a homolog of the yeast Cdc20, is a ∽55kDa protein required for the degradation of anaphase-promoting complex (APC)-dependent proteolysis. Cdh1 acts as a limiting, substrate-specific activator of APC-dependent proteolysis and it is required for the degradation of APC substrates such as Clb2 and Ase1. Cdh1 plays an important role in mitotic regulation.
