Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

PA5-28823 targets Midkine in WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples. The PA5-28823 immunogen is synthetic peptide corresponding to a region within amino acids 79 and 143 of Human Midkine. Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

Midkine is a retinoic acid-responsive, heparin-binding growth factor expressed in various cell types during embryogenesis. It promotes angiogenesis, cell growth, and cell migration. Midkine is also expressed in several carcinomas, suggesting that it may play a role in tumorigenesis, perhaps through its effects on angiogenesis (summary by Reynolds et al., 2004 [PubMed 15197188]).
