MilliporeSigma™ anti-Mitoferrin-1/Mfrn1, Polyclonal
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: MilliporeSigma™ ABS1051
Description
Specifically detects Mitoferrin-1/Mfrn1 Clone: in Mouse samples, and it is validated for Western Blotting
Mitoferrin-1 (UniProt Q920G8; also known as mitochondrial iron transporter 1, mitochondrial solute carrier protein, solute carrier family 25 member 37) is encoded by the Slc25a37 (also known as Mfrn, Mfrn1, Mscp) gene (Gene ID 67712) in murine species. Mitoferrin-1 and mitoferrin-2 (Slc25a28, Mfrn2) mediate iron import into mitochondria. Mitoferrin-2 is expressed ubiquitously, whereas mitoferrin-1 is specifically induced in differentiating erythroid cells. Mfrn1 knockout in zebrafish and mice disrupts heme and [Fe-S] cluster synthesis as a result of a severe reduction in mitochondrial iron in erythroid progenitors.
