Phospho-Rb (Ser249), Polyclonal, Invitrogen™
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Thermo Scientific PA126667
Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a negative regulator of the cell cycle and was the first tumor suppressor gene found. The encoded protein also stabilizes constitutive heterochromatin to maintain the overall chromatin structure. The active, hypophosphorylated form of the protein binds transcription factor E2F1. Defects in this gene are a cause of childhood cancer retinoblastoma (RB), bladder cancer, and osteogenic sarcoma.
PA1-26667 detects Rb (phospho S249) from human samples. PA1-26667 is expected to cross react with chicken (92% conserved), mouse (100% conserved), and rat (100% conserved) due to sequence homology.PA1-26667 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. The PA1-26667 immunogen is a synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to a portion of human Rb containing serine 249 and threonine 252. The sequence is conserved in human, mouse and rat.
