Description

Description

Specifically detects PhosphoDetect™ Tie2 (pTyr,1108/1117) Clone: in Human samples, and it is validated for ELISA, Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin)

Angiopoietin-1 (Ang1) and its naturally occurring inhibitor, angiopoietin-2 (Ang2) exert their effects by inducing autophosphorylation of their signaling receptor Tie2 (also known as Tek). Phosphorylation of the receptor occurs during vasculogenesis and is required for its activity in regulating endothelial cell proliferation, differentiation and guiding the proper patterning of endothelial cells during blood vessel formation. Tie-2 is a∽140kDa transmembrane receptor-tyrosine kinase that is expressed by endothelial cells and primitive hematopoietic tissues. Tie2/Tek has been shown to be critical for endothelial cell survival, which is evidenced in part by the constitutive phosphorylation that is observed in quiescent endothelium. More recently a multifunction docking site has been identified on the receptor (Tyr1100in mouse or Tyr1102in human) that serves as a binding site for other partners including Grb2, Grb7, and p85 and acting via an SH2 domain interaction.
