Description
The O28-835 monoclonal antibody recognizes ROR-gamma ( RORγ) and its isoform, RORγt. RORγ(∽58 kDa calculated molecular weight) is a DNA-binding transcription factor that belongs to the ROR/RZR orphan nuclear receptor family. It is expressed in different tissues including skeletal muscle, kidney, liver and adipose tissues. RORγt ( ∽56 kDa calculated molecular weight ) is a RORγisoform that is expressed exclusively by lymphoid cells. It is expressed by various lymphoid cell types including CD4+CD8+ thymocytes, peripheral CD4+ Th17 and CD8+ Tc17 cells and lymphoid tissue inducer (Lti) cells. RORγt plays essential roles in thymopoiesis, T cell homeostasis, differentiation of effector T lymphocytes and the development of secondary lymphoid tissues including lymph nodes and Peyer’s patches.
