Tumor necrosis factor receptor type 1-associated DEATH domain protein (UniProt Q15628; also known as TNFR1-associated death domain protein, TNFRSF1A-associated via death domain, Tumor necrosis factor receptor-1-associated protein) is encoded by the TRADD (also known as Hs.89862) gene (Gene ID 8717) in human. TRADD is an adapter protein that interacts with the TNFR1 receptor, and mediates the activation of programmed cell death and NF-κB activation. TRADD exhibits similar structural and functional features, as well as subcellular localization as the adaptor protein Fas-associated death domain (FADD). Both proteins contain a C-terminal death domain (DD) and function as mediators of death receptors-mediated signaling pathways.
