Description
Trop-2/GA733-1 is a cell surface glycoprotein that was originally identified on human trophoblast and choriocarcinoma cell lines and has been shown to be expressed in most human carcinomas. Trop-2 has been cloned and shown to encode a type-1 transmembrane protein with a single transmembrane domain. Furthermore, research has shown Trop-2 to be involved in the transduction of an intracellular calcium signal, although the exact physiological mechanism has yet to be elucidated. The antibody recognizes human Trop-2. Cells from the human choriocarcinoma cell line BeWo were used as the immunogen.
