Rabbit Recombinant Monoclonal Antibody

This antibody is predicted to react with mouse and non-human primate based on sequence homology. Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as ~150 kDa band and upon reduction generating a ~25 kDa light chain band and a ~50 kDa heavy chain. By sandwich ELISA, 701239 can be used as a coating antibody with each of the following mouse monoclonal detection antibodies: Product # MA5-14668, MA5-14670, or MA5-14732, to generate a matched pair. With each of these matched pairs, recombinant human Apo A-1, but not recombinant mouse Apo A-1, is detected. 701239 can be used to capture Apo A-1 from serum samples. To increase sensitivity of sandwich ELISAs with 701239, a biotinylated detection antibody followed by Streptavidin-HRP is recommended. Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning in the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Then, individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production. The advantages of using recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies include: better specificity and sensitivity, lot-to-lot consistency, animal origin-free formulations, and broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire.

Apolipoprotein A-1 (apo A-1) in human plasma is a major protein component of high density lipoprotein (HDL). The molecular mass is 24 kDa. Apo A-1 is a cofactor for enzymes involved in the normal turnover of cholesterol and is produced in the liver. Plasma concentration is 270-380 mg/100 mL.
