Two liquid controls
Testing of Antistreptolysin-O (ASO) will detect the presence of antibodies from a prior Strep A infection. This is important in the diagnosis of post-infection complications of some heart and kidney diseases (Rheumatic fever and Glomerulonephritis). In the presence of antistreptolysin-O levels greater than 200 IU/mL in serum, coated latex particles will agglutinate providing a visual observable reaction of antigen and antibody.
- Two-minute slide test
- Results on AAB, CAP and API surveys
- No initial dilution of patient samples is required for this test
- ASO latex reagent consists of latex particles coated with streptolysin-O
- Sensitivity: 200 IU/mL
- Specificity: >95%
