Invitrogen™ Bacillus Spore Antigen Polyclonal Antibody, HRP
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Invitrogen™ PA173114
Description
The PA1-73114 antibody reacts with Bacillus spores. This antibody is unabsorbed and expected to cross-reeact with various Bacillus species. PA1-73114 has been successfully used in ELISA applications. The PA1-73114 antibody was raised against purified spores of B. cereus (ATCC #11778) + B. subtilis (ATCC #9372).
Bacillus is a genus of rod-shaped, Gram-positive bacteria and a member of the division Firmicutes. Bacillus species are either obligate or facultative aerobes, and test positive for the enzyme catalase. Bacillus includes both free-living (nonparasitic) and parasitic pathogenic species such as B. anthracis, which causes anthrax, and B. cereus, which causes food poisoning. Under stressful environmental conditions, the bacteria can produce oval endospores that allow them to remain in a dormant state for very long periods.
