Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest reactivity with human, sheep, rabbit, canine, bovne, pig, guinea pig, and monkey based on 100% sequence homology. This antibody will not react with AB42. Cross-reactivity with Beta Amyloid from other sources has not been determined.

Amyloid Precursor Protein (APP) or Amyloid beta protein functions as a cell surface kinesin I membrane receptor, mediating the axonal transport of beta-secretase and presenilin 1; APP is rapidly internalized via clathrin-coated pits. APP is important for neurite growth, neuronal adhesion and axonogenesis. Mutations in the APP gene can lead to Alzheimer disease 1 (AD1). This anitbody recognizes APP (b-APP770) with a MW of approximately 100kDa.
