Description

Membrane-permeable dye used to monitor changes in intracellular free calcium concentrations in the cell. Once eFluor™ 514 Calcium Sensor Dye enters the cell, cellular esterases cleave the AM group yielding a membrane-impermeable dye fluorescing at ≈520nm.

  • Calcium binding affinity: Kd = 232 nM
  • Molecular Weight: ≈1100 d
  • Peak Excitation: 490nm
  • Peak Emission: 514nm
  • Reconstitute in high-quality, freshly opened DMSO
  • Recommended concentration: 2 to 5 mM
  • Once reconstituted, protect from light and store dessicated at −20°C; avoid freeze-thawing
