Invitrogen™ Calretinin Monoclonal Antibody (SP13)
Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody
Supplier: Invitrogen™ MA139562
Description
This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, chicken and rat based on sequence homology. Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min. Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 min at room temperature. A suggested positive control is mesothelioma.
Calretinin is encoded by the CALB2 gene located on chromosome 16. It is a troponin C superfamily protein having six EF-hand structural motifs. The EF motif allows the protein to bind calcium, and function in calcium signaling, calcium buffering, and modulating neuronal excitability. Calretinin is expressed in the mesothelium, mast cells, some neural cells, hair follicles, and fat cells.
