Description

Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Reconstitute with 0.2 mL of distilled water to yield a concentration of 500 μg/mL. Positive Control - WB: MCF-7 whole cell, HELA whole cell, SW620 whole cell. IHC: Human Mammary Cancer Tissue. Store at -20°C for one year from date of receipt. After reconstitution, at 4°C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20°C for six months. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Caspase-1 (CASP1) is a thiol protease that cleaves IL-1 beta between Asp and Ala. This cleavage causes the release of the mature cytokine which is involved in a variety of inflammatory processes. CASP1 is important for defense against pathogen. It cleaves and activates sterol regulatory element binding proteins (SREBPs). CASP1 also promotes apoptosis. Upon inflammasome activation, during DNA virus infection but not RNA virus challenge, CASP1 controls antiviral immunity through the cleavage of CGAS and renders it inactive.
