Invitrogen™ CD105 Monoclonal Antibody (MEM-229)
Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
Supplier: Invitrogen™ MA119408
Description
This antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope of CD105 (Endoglin), a 90 kDa type I integral membrane homodimer glycoprotein expressed on vascular endothelial cells (small and large vessels), activated monocytes and tissue macrophages, stromal cells of certain tissues including bone marrow, pre-B lymphocytes in fetal marrow and erythroid precursors in fetal and adult bone marrow; it is also present on syncytiotrophoblast on placenta throughout pregnancy. Western Blot: non-reducing conditions; Immunohistochemistry (Frozen): acetone fixation.
CD105 or Endoglin is a Type I transmembrane protein, which is highly expressed on human vascular endothelial cells. It exists on an O- and N-glycosylated homodimer. Up regulation of endoglin expression has been demonstrated in tumor vasculature and proliferating cells, suggesting that it is a proliferation associated endothelial marker. CD105 binds to TGF beta 1 and 3 with high affinity but not to TGF beta 2.
