Description

Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

The AG184 monoclonal antibody specifically binds to the 65-70 kDa commonγsubunit (γc) that is shared by the IL-2, IL-4, IL-7, IL-9, IL-15 and IL-21 receptor complexes. Theγc receptor is a type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein that is constitutively expressed by most peripheral T and B lymphocytes, NK cells, monocytes and granulocytes. The cytoplasmic domain of theγc chain plays an important role in cytokine-mediated signal transduction. By immunofluorescent staining and flow cytometric analyses, the AG184 antibody has been shown to specifically recognize humanγc expressed by cell lines including humanγc gene-transfected cell lines which are known to express the humanγc chain. The AG184 antibody can bind theγc chain in the receptors complexed with IL-2, IL-4, or IL-7, indicating that the antibody recognizes an epitope which is distinct from the cytokine binding site of theγc chain.

The antibody was conjugated to BD Horizon™ BV786 which is part of the BD Horizon Brilliant™ Violet family of dyes. This dye is a tandem fluorochrome of BD Horizon BV421 with an Ex Max of 405nm and an acceptor dye with an Em Max at 786nm. BD Horizon BV786 can be excited by the violet laser and detected in a filter used to detect Cy™7-like dyes (eg, 780/60nm filter). BV786 is a tandem fluorochrome of BD Horizon BV421 and an acceptor dye with an emission maximum at 786 nm. BV786 offers a bright choice for the 6th detector off the violet laser.
