Invitrogen™ CD178 (Fas Ligand) Monoclonal Antibody (14C2), eBioscience™

Description
Description: BMS199/2 (14C2) specifically recognizes human Fas Ligand. Clone 14C2 is not yet reported to have a blocking function. FasL is a member of the TNF family and is expressed by neutrophils, monocytes, and activated T cells and NK cells. The interaction of FasL with its receptor (CD95, Fas) induces Fas-mediated killing of lymphocytes. Human FasL is cleaved from the surface by matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), resulting in a 26 kDa soluble form. Therefore for optimal detection of surface FasL on activated peripheral blood cells, incubation of cells with an MMP inhibitor is recommended. Purity is greater than 95% IgG1 as determined by SDS-PAGE. The fluorochrome phycoerythrin (PE) shows an excitation maximum of 495 to 564 nm and an emission maximum of 576 nm. Annexin V conjugated to PE is suitable for the detection of PS and allows simple secondary labelling by staining, for example, the membrane surface proteins with a monoclonal antibody for further cellular characterization.
