Description
Reacts with the human form of the 40-50kDa transmembrane cell surface Fas or Apo-1 antigen. The Fas/Apo-1 antigen is a polypeptide which plays a role in the programmed sequence of events leading to cell death, termed apoptosis. DX2 cross-reacts with a subset of peripheral blood lymphocytes, monocytes and granulocytes of baboon and both rhesus and cynomolgus macaque monkeys. The distribution on lymphocytes is similar to that seen with human peripheral blood lymphocytes being broadly expressed on all major lymphocyte subsets. This antibody is routinely tested by flow cytometric analysis. Other applications were tested at BD Biosciences Pharmingen during antibody development only or reported in the literature.
