Description

Description

CDSN, also named as S protein, is important for the epidermal barrier integrity. CDSN is a unique extracellular 52- to 56- kDa glycoprotein found in corneodesmosomes. Pathogenic mutations in CDSN have been linked in humans to genodermatoses affecting both the hair follicle and the epidermis. Inflammatory peeling skin syndrome is caused a novel mutation in CDSN.
