Description

Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. This antibody is specific for human CLIC1. BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with CLIC1 from human sources based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence, 98% homology with rat and mouse, and 97% homology with bovine and Oryctolagus cuniculus. Cross-reactivity with CLIC1 from other sources has not been determined.

Chloride channels are a diverse group of proteins that regulate fundamental cellular processes including stabilization of cell membrane potential, transepithelial transport, maintenance of intracellular pH, and regulation of cell volume. Chloride intracellular channel 1 is a member of the p64 family; the protein localizes principally to the cell nucleus and exhibits both nuclear and plasma membrane chloride ion channel activity.
