Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

This antibody is specific for glutamate dehydrogenase of Clostridia species. It is reactive with recombinant GDH and native GDH from C. difficile cultures. Purity is >90%.

Clostridia are a highly polyphyletic class of Firmicutes, including Clostridium and other similar genera. Clostridia are distinguished from the Bacilli by lacking aerobic respiration. Clostridia are obligate anaerobes and oxygen is toxic to them. Diseases caused by Clostridia include botulism from C. botulinum as a result of exposure to botulinum toxin.
