Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

MA1-40163 detects C5/C5b from human samples. MA1-40163 has been successfully used in ELISA and Western blot applications. The MA1-40163 immunogen is an epitope on C5/C5b.

C5b-9 is also known as the TCC. TCC consists of C5b, C6, C7, C8 and C9. The complex forms transmembrane channels which displace lipid molecules and other constituents, thus disrupting the phospholipid bilayer of target cells leading to cell lysis by osmotic leakage. The complex contains neoantigens that are absent from the individual native components and the monoclonal antibody DIA 011-01 is directed against a neoepitope exposed in C9 when incorporated into TCC.
