Invitrogen™ Coronavirus Nucleoprotein Monoclonal Antibody (3877)
Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
Supplier: Invitrogen™ MA547530
Description
Specificity: Reactive with the NP of native SARS, MERS by IFA & COVID-19. Non-reactive with the following Coronavirus strains: 229E, NL63 & OC43. Purified preparations consist of >90% pure mouse monoclonal antibody which has been purified from ascites fluid by protein A chromatography. The final preparation is formulated to a protein concentration of 100 μg/mL in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.2 and contains 0.1% sodium azide. Each vial contains 1.0 mL. This product contains no stabilizing proteins and should be stored at 4C until ready for use. Working dilution must be determined by the user. Suggested starting ranges are 1:10-1:50 for ICC/IF and 1:20-1:200. for ELISA.
The coronavirus nucleocapsid (N) is a structural protein that forms complexes with genomic RNA, interacts with the viral membrane protein during virion assembly and plays a critical role in enhancing the efficiency of virus transcription and assembly. Amino acid sequence comparisons have shown that coronavirus nucleocapsid proteins have three distinct and highly conserved domains: two structural and independently folded structural regions, namely the N terminal domain (NTD/domain 1) and C-terminal domain (CTD/domain 3), which are separated by a intrinsically disordered central region (RNA-binding domain/domain 2); all three domains have been shown in different CoVs to bind with viral RNA.
