Description
The MA1-7296 antibody reacts with Cytomegalovirus pp65 in viral and infected tissue samples. MA1-7296 has been successfully used in Western blot and Immunofluorescence applications. Acetone fixation of the antigen source is recommended prior to staining. The MA1-7296 antibody was raised against purified CMV pp65.
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is an opportunistic pathogen infecting lung, kidney, gut and other organs in situations where an individual is immunologically immature, such as the foetus and neonate. Infection also occurs in immunosuppressed patients e.g. transplant patients, patients undergoing chemotherapy and those with HIV infection. Cytomegalovirus is an enveloped double stranded DNA virus which in humans (HCMV) is commonly known as human herpesvirus 5 (HHV-5).
