Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
Supplier: Invitrogen™ MA183368
Description
The following cross-reactivites have been observed: 17-beta Estradiol - 100%, 17-beta Estradiol-BSA - 90%, Estriol - <0.9%, Testosterone - <0.01%. Mouse anti 17-beta-Estradiol antibody, clone 4S24 (BGN/06/8824) recognizes 17-beta estradiol, a mammalian estrogenic hormone, produced in the ovaries, placenta and testis that has a role in normal sexual development and the regulation of the menstrual cycle.
Estradiol (17 beta-estradiol) is a sex hormone. Estradiol is the predominant sex hormone present in females. It is also present in males, being produced as an active metabolic product of testosterone. It represents the major estrogen in humans. Estradiol has not only a critical impact on reproductive and sexual functioning, but also affects other organs including the bones.
