Description

Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

In Western blot, this antibody detects a band at ~140 and 41 kDa under reducing conditions. Mouse anti Feline immunodeficiency virus gp41 transmembrane protein antibody, clone 5A1 recognizes feline immunodeficiency virus transmembrane protein gp41.

The lentivirus FIV is responsible for a progressive and debilitating immunodeficiency syndrome in domestic cats, similar to that caused by HIV. It is a complex retrovirus with a tightly-packed genome containing the structrual genes gag, env and pro-pol, as well as accessory genes vif, rev and ORF-A/2.
