Description

Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

Specificity: ABS 052-121-02 cross-reacts with rat ghrelin, and is predicted to react with mouse, dog and cat based on sequence homology. Reactivity: ABS 052-121-02 binds human ghrelin in solution. ABS 052-121-02 can be used as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with capture antibody ABS 050-45-02. NOTE: Concentration is lot-dependent and can vary from 0.85-1.15 mg/mL.

GHRL encodes ghrelin-obestatin preproprotein, which generates ghrelin and obestatin. Ghrelin is an the ligand for the growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 and is involved in regulating growth hormone release. Ghrelin has an appeptite-stimulating effect and induces adiposity and stimulates gastric acid secretion. Obestatin may be the ligand for the orphan G protein-coupled receptor GPR39 and is involved in satiety and can have an appetite-reducing effect resulting in decreased food intake.
