This extract is capable of inducing blastogenesis in vitro in various mammalian mononuclear cells when used at a concentration of 1 to 2% v/v.

Gibco™ Phytohemagglutinin, M form (PHA-M) is a solution made from a crude extract of the red kidney bean Phaseolus vulgaris. This extract is capable of inducing blastogenesis in vitro in various mammalian mononuclear cells when used at a concentration of 1–2% v/v. Each lot of Gibco™ Phytohemagglutinin is performance tested at 1.5% using peripheral blood lymphocytes from a normal adult donor cultured for 72 hours in Gibco™ RPMI 1640 Medium supplemented with Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS), heparin, antibiotics, and L-glutamine.

What is the concentration of the PHA-M solution?

The PHA is a crude extract of red kidney beans. No protein concentration assay is performed. We recommend using the product at 1-2% by volume, or you may choose to optimize the dose by titration.

For how long is Phytohemagglutinin, M form (PHA-M) stable one thawed. Can I freeze it again?

PHA-M is shipped on dry ice and recommended storage is at -5 degrees C to -20 degrees C.

Post-thawing, the product should be used within 10-15 days. We do not recommend freezing it back.
