Description
AA Sequence of recombinant protein: DLQEADLDLL RVTLSSKPQA LATPNKEEHG KRKKKGKGLG KKRDPCLRKY KDFCIHGECK YVKELRAPSC ICHPGYHGER CHGLSL. Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human HB-EGF. Anti-Human HB-EGF-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated. Sandwich ELISA: To detect Human HB-EGF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well), a concentration of 0.25-1.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human HB-EGF (500-P329) as a capture antibody, allows the detection of at least 2000-4000 pg/mL of Recombinant Human HB-EGF. Western Blot: To detect Human HB-EGF by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2 μg/mL. When used in conjunction with compatible development reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human HB-EGF is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions. 500-P329BT-1MG will be provided as 2 x 500 μg
HBEGF is a growth factor that mediates its effects via EGFR, ERBB2 and ERBB4. It is required for normal cardiac valve formation and normal heart function. HBEGF promotes smooth muscle cell proliferation. It may be involved in macrophage-mediated cellular proliferation. It is mitogenic for fibroblasts, but not endothelial cells. It is able to bind EGF receptor/EGFR with higher affinity than EGF itself and is a far more potent mitogen for smooth muscle cells than EGF. It also acts as a diphtheria toxin receptor.Specifications
