Invitrogen™ HDAC3 Polyclonal Antibody
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Invitrogen™ PA1862
Description
PA1-862 detects histone deacetylase 3 (HDAC3) from canine, hamster, human and rat tissues and cells. PA1-862 has been successfully used in Western blot and ChIP procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~48 kDa protein representing HDAC3 from HeLa cell lysate. The PA1-862 immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues C D(415) G D H D N D K E S D V E I(428) of human HDAC3. This immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-071) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.
Histones play a critical role in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, and developmental events. Histone acetylation/deacetylation alters chromosome structure and affects transcription factor access to DNA. HDAC3 belongs to the histone deacetylase/acuc/apha family. It has histone deacetylase activity and represses transcription when tethered to a promoter. It may participate in the regulation of transcription through its binding with the zinc-finger transcription factor YY1. This protein can also down-regulate p53 function and thus modulate cell growth and apoptosis. This gene is regarded as a potential tumor suppressor gene.
