Invitrogen™ HIV1 p24 Monoclonal Antibody (2N32)
Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
Supplier: Invitrogen™ MA171521
Description
This antibody reacts with HIV-1 p24 subtype B, C and A. It has been mapped to amino acids 80-90 (WDRVHPVHAGP - B subtype consensus). This clone may also be referred to as 2N32 (05-009).
HIV-1 Gag p24 is a capsid protein that constitutes the core of the AIDS virus HIV-1 and is produced by the digestion of its precursor Gag p55 by HIV-1 protease. The HIV-1 Gag p24 protein is indispensable to the reproduction of AIDS virus, and constitutes an essential element for the AIDS virus particle construction. HIV-1 Gag p24 is detectable from the early stage of AIDS virus infection, and is used as a marker for observation of the development in the patient's condition after treatment, as it indicated the amount of virus in the blood.
