This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-110650 (PA5-110650. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. MBL2 is a calcium-dependent lectin involved in innate immune defense. It binds mannose, fucose and N-acetylglucosamine on different microorganisms and activates the lectin complement pathway. It also binds to late apoptotic cells, as well as to apoptotic blebs and to necrotic cells, but not to early apoptotic cells, facilitating their uptake by macrophages. MBL2 may bind DNA.
