Mouse Monoclonal Antibody

Description: The HIS40 monoclonal antibody reacts with the μ heavy chain of rat IgM. It does not react with other classes of rat immunoglobulin including IgD, IgG or IgA. IgM is expressed intracellularly, during early stages of B lymphopoiesis, and then on the surface of more mature B cells in the bone marrow and peripheral B cells. Fluorochrome conjugated HIS40 is used as a detection secondary for rat IgM primary antibodies. Applications Reported: The HIS40 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis. Applications Tested: The HIS40 antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis as a second step to detect rat IgM primary antibodies. This can be used at less than or equal to 0.125 μg per test. A test is defined as the amount (μg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 μL. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest. Excitation: 488-561 nm; Emission: 578 nm; Laser: Blue Laser, Green Laser, Yellow-Green Laser. Filtration: 0.2 μm post-manufacturing filtered.

Rat IgM is an immunoglobulin M isotype antibody produced by B cells in rats. It plays a crucial role in the immune system by recognizing and neutralizing antigens, such as bacteria and viruses. Rat IgM has been extensively studied and is widely used in research applications, including immunology, microbiology, and biotechnology. It is commonly used as a control in experiments, as well as a diagnostic tool for detecting infectious diseases and autoimmune disorders. Researchers have developed various techniques for producing and purifying Rat IgM, including hybridoma technology, protein A/G chromatography, and affinity chromatography. Rat IgM is a valuable tool in the field of immunology, and its use has contributed to a better understanding of the immune system and the development of new treatments for various diseases.
